At Asia Pacific Institute of Money and Entrepreneurship Development (IMED), we are on a mission to help Entrepreneurs in the region take things to the next level. Working with early-stage founders and seasoned entrepreneurs, we assist them in improving their financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills. With a combination of comprehensive courses, entrepreneurial development programmes, tailored guidance and consultancy, network and resource sharing, our programs suit all stages of a business. The institute was started with the visionary idea of our president Mr Chaaminda Kumarasiri who understood the gap in the industry for organizations that assist with financial and entrepreneurial skill development.

Message from the Founder/President
The launch of Asia Pacific Institute of Money and Entrepreneurship Development (IMED) gave me immense pleasure and an enormous sense of achievement as a responsible citizen and paved the way for me to share the knowledge and experience which I gained as a Financial and Management professional through the free education system. I had a dream and vision to establish a dedicated institute to inculcate the culture of Entrepreneurship Development to produce more successful entrepreneurs and help the new startup businesses and SME sector to grow with the required entrepreneurial competencies and the knowledge of financial acumen to achieve their long-term vision and objectives.
We are the one and only institute, collaborative with the expert skills, knowledge and, more importantly, with the right attitude to take up this challenge to sharpen the business community to become more successful in their line of business and also to provide capacity building on training and coaching, banking, financial, other institution’s human talents to more efficient services in the area of entrepreneurship development, SME lending etc.
Chief Operating Officer’s Message
I had the pleasure of joining the Asia Pacific Institute of Money and Entrepreneurship Development (IMED) at its inception in January 2022 as its first Chief Operating Officer (COO) and the head of the institution. IMED is a great place to enhance your competencies in the field of entrepreneurial development and financial literacy education, which is essentially required for a startup business, SME or family business at the growing stage.
With my professional background, I have had the great distinction of serving as a senior Finance and Human Resources Development Professional for well over 33 years in Sri Lanka. In January 2004, I joined the education sector by taking up the position as the Head of Finance in IPM Sri Lanka – the nation’s leader in HRM where I progressed in my career as the Director of Finance HR & Admin. Consequently, I was promoted to the post of Chief Executive Officer in 2017 as a testament to my diligent service. And finally, in April 2020, I concluded my tenure as CEO after completing a 16-year long journey at IPM/CIPM.
